How to Become Unstuck (When You’re Doing Everything “Right” but Still Aren’t Moving Forward)

Feeling stuck can be one of the most frustrating experiences — especially when you’re self-aware, motivated, and genuinely trying. You read the books. You listen to the podcasts. You know what you should be doing… yet something still isn’t clicking.

Here’s the truth: being stuck doesn’t mean you’re broken.

It means your system needs a different kind of support.

That’s exactly what I explore in Kore Kast Episode 12 and in my book Unstuck: The Healing to Momentum Movement — why insight alone isn’t enough, and what actually helps you move forward.

Why We Get Stuck (Even When We’re Trying Hard)

Most people assume stuckness is a motivation problem.

In reality, it’s often a nervous system and identity problem.

You may be stuck because:

  • Your body is still operating in survival mode

  • Old coping patterns no longer fit your current life

  • You’ve outgrown an identity but haven’t embodied the next one yet

  • Shame is quietly running the show

When this happens, pushing harder usually makes things worse.

Becoming Unstuck Starts With Safety, Not Pressure

In Kore Kast Episode 12, we talk about a powerful reframe:

You don’t move forward by force — you move forward by creating enough safety to change.

This means shifting away from “fixing yourself” and toward re-entry — gently re-engaging with your body, habits, and life in sustainable ways.

4 Practical Ways to Start Getting Unstuck

1. Shrink the Action Step

Big goals overwhelm a system that’s already taxed.

Choose the smallest version of movement you can actually do today.

Momentum follows completion — not intensity.

2. Interrupt the Shame Loop

If your inner dialogue sounds harsh or impatient, pause.

Shame doesn’t create change.

It reinforces freeze.

Try asking: “What would feel supportive right now?”

3. Use Movement as a Reset Button

Movement isn’t punishment — it’s communication.

Gentle strength, posture resets, walking, and breathwork tell your nervous system it’s safe to move forward again.

This is a core pillar of the Healing to Momentum Method in Unstuck.

Walking tells your nervous system that it is safe to move forward

4. Stop Waiting to Feel Ready

Readiness isn’t a prerequisite — it’s a result.

You don’t move because you feel ready.

You feel ready because you’ve moved — even a little.

Stuck Is Not a Failure — It’s a Threshold

Being stuck often appears when you’re transitioning into a new chapter.

It’s the space between who you were and who you’re becoming.

If you’re here, you’re not behind.

You’re building the bridge — step by step.

You’re not alone- you’re building a bridge step by step
